چکیده

Vibration analysis for a cable with concentrated loads (mass) has been studied by many researchers under certain assumptions (e.g. see [1], [2]). This paper is to present an analytic method for analyzing sagged cables which have small equilibrium curvature and horizontal supports under both distributed and concentrated loads. The loads are applied at vertical as well as horizontal directions. Closed-form solutions are obtained from an asymptotic, free vibration analysis for natural frequencies and associated mode shapes in vertical, horizontal and longitudinal directions. This method demonstrates the advantages of its ability to analyze for: (i) interactions between modes in different directions, (ii) complex arrangement of concentrated loads, and (iii) high-order modes. A practical example is given to show the applicability of the theory.

Buckling Analysis of FGM Timoshenko Beam with Variable Thickness under Concentrated and Distributed Axial loads Using DQM

In this article, mechanical buckling analysis of tapered beams having constant width and variable thickness, made of two-dimensional functionally graded materials is studied. The beam is assumed to be made of metal and ceramic, where their volume fractions vary in both longitudinal and thickness directions based on the power law. The beam is generally subjected to combined concentrated and dist...

Analysis of a Beam under Moving Loads

Abstract: It is assumed that a beam made of material has a physical nonlinear behavior. This beam is analyzed under the moving concentrated and distributed continuous loads. The vibration equations of motion are derived from the Hamilton's Principle and Euler–Lagrange Equation. In this study, the amplitude of vibration, circular frequency, bending moment, stress and deflection of the beam has b...

Examining and calculation of non-classical in the solutions to the true elastic cable under concentrated loads in nanofilm

Due to high surface-to-volume ratio of nanoscale structures, surface stress effects have a significant influence on their behavior. In this paper, a two-dimensional problem for an elastic layer that is bonded to a rigid substrate and subjected to an inclined concentrated line load acting on the surface of the layer is investigated based on Gurtin-Murdoch continuum model to consider surface stre...

Modeling and Wrench Feasible Workspace Analysis of a Cable Suspended Robot for Heavy Loads Handling

Modeling and Wrench feasible workspace analysis of a spatial cable suspended robots is presented. A six-cable spatial cable robot is used the same as Stewart robots. Due to slow motion of the robot we suppose the motion as pseudostatic and kinetostatic modeling is performed. Various workspaces are defined and the results of simulation are presented on the basis of various workspaces and app...
